Everybody's doing things that I don't personally connect with; that's why I do my own art. Ironically, in all actuality, most who view my work probably won't personally connect with it either. As I am connected to this piece, however, let me say a few things about it, in hopes that it touches upon something in you as well. Sure, at first glance, it's easy to get; a nude, probably attractive woman against a soft, warm, inviting curvaceous background of barely imaginably sexual shapes. That is true, but I drew this with more in mind for those who care to look deeper. Both the composition of the nude woman and the background that she appears on are synthesized from individual, disparate geometric icons. These shapes and lines, lifeless and abstract on their own, meld into larger, familiar figures and designs. Even if we cannot see all we wish to on an individual level, sometimes we all have to trust that our individual, harsh, and disparate realities will at some time be united together as a more beautiful whole.
